Empowering the World’s Future with Bigu

Hello, do you ever feel like there has to be a better answer to all the discomforts and sufferings in this human experience? Let’s start as simple as breathing, moving, eating, coloring, and not thinking. So many people need better sleep, better diet, better friends, better job, a better lifestyle, period. Let’s start with the inside out. We all want to look and feel young, right? Isn’t that a key to happiness and that we’re doing something right in our lives? I’d like to share some secrets as to why Shaolin monks and yogis live simply, yet powerfully.

.
Just because these masters have titles doesn’t mean that you’re not entitled to live your life this way, too. We Americans like to talk about vacations. Everything, even the so-called vacations we plan revolve around eating and doing activities. That is tiring, wear and tear on our bodies. We rest, sleep, play, and take breaks. A lot of us continue to work hard even on our breaks. The body needs to periodically and regularly rest from digesting food and running around like maniacal chickens with their heads cut off, trying to be superman or superwoman to all. Food is nourishing. But sometimes the body intuitively knows when it has to detoxify itself from accumulated toxins created by stress, environment, living, and eating. We take a shower to have good hygiene and health. We need to remember that our body needs an internal shower, too. This is why so many youth and adults in the United States have morbidities such as type II diabetes, don’t look and feel as radiant as they should, and why the emotional, mental, spiritual, social, psychological, physical, and more aspects of our lives are not as balanced as we wish. Sleeping and showering are maintenance for the body to rest and cleanse.

.
Bigu is maintenance, too. Bigu is a chance for the body to rest and cleanse powerfully on the internal and soul level, in addition to all aspects of yourself simultaneously. Do you ever wonder why we look like sh*it sometimes? That is the rubbish that you and your body are sorting through, shedding that happens naturally as a result of experiencing life and it’s lessons. Healing is sometimes ugly and destructive too, before it gets beautiful and smooth. Healing is everything, it’s all cyclical, inevitable and unconditional. Sure people may take care of their bodies through healthy food, cardiovascular exercise, toning, strengthening, endurance, meditation, good hygiene, goal setting, and virtuous acts, but there’s more.

.
Bigu takes into account that all your bodies, physical, spiritual, you name it, need to shed the toxins accumulated by all your bodies. It’s at a point where make-up, plastic surgery, and clothes won’t cover up the toxins and excrement that is starting to show through your pores, through your eyes. Dullness, blotchiness, and just not being radiant is a good sign you need to rejuvenate with bigu. I’m not going to lie to you, it can be a burn out when you’re first starting this regimen. But how come the masters, like the monks don’t get burnt out doing it on a daily basis, how many hours a day? That’s because they already live that way. It is not part of something they schedule in, it is their lifestyle. It can be overwhelming at first because we are not yet programmed to take into account every breath, every movement, every thought, every surrounding that affects us during this bigu time. But once you start, even if it’s only baby steps, commitment is the number one key to your success. Once you’re conditioned, it’s easy!

.
Bigu literally means “grain,” or “grains” in Chinese. It also means, “too chi filled to eat.” Chi is energy. You feel full because you’re high on energy from the qigong and other exercises. During bigu, you abstain from all grains and starches because it is too much yang, or fire element. We all detox and get more balanced by avoiding foods the master tells us to avoid during this bigu regimen. The reason bigu is more emphasized over a hard core fasting with no food at all is because if you are on a mini, or half fast, ie, bigu, where you do eat only your individually prescribed foods, it’s easier on all your bodies to successfully heal and rejuvenate itself. You get more energy from eating, too, and it’s only your individually prescribed healing foods you are allowed to eat. Psychologically, physiologically, and on all levels, this regimen is gentle and arduous at the same time on your body and your time. You’re more likely to achieve all the benefits of healing your own ailments, from cancers, to diabetes, to cleansing, rejuvenating, and strengthening from your inner core out because it’s not as harsh on all your bodies as a strict fast. It’s like trying to release a knife from a baby’s hand, in order to successfully get the knife out of the baby’s hand and not hurt the baby, you need to be gentle with the baby.

.
The master gives you prescribed colors, directions like southwest and north, numbers, foods, times of the day to rest and exercise, ratio of elements, and qigong exercises specifically to put your whole constitution into balance for that period, which can last a week, or change on a daily basis. You eat, breathe, sleep, your individually prescribed instructions. You “eat” this energy to sustain you from eating only small portions of food. The first time you do bigu, it can last 2 weeks or months. Regularly it is recommended once a month for shorter periods like 3-6 days, every month, light maintenance. Maybe once or twice a year you can do the full out 18 days to months. The deep cleaning bigu is like going to the dentist twice a year! But you do light cleaning bigu maintenance, 3-6 days once a month forever, just like how you’re responsible to brush your teeth nightly. I’ve mentioned the master quite a few times.

.
This system is headed by the triad of Medicine Buddha, Quanyin Buddha, and Grandmaster Qinyin Zhang. This is where you receive universal energy signals during your qigong exercises, ie, slow moving meditation exercises. This is where you can ask guidance and support to determine what your individually prescribed healing foods, colors, numbers, etc. are for the day, as you start each morning. The number of days to half, or mini-fast, ie, bigu is also determined by the masters, because each person can handle different treatments at different times. The longer the more beneficial because it has to have time to detox from the skin to the muscles to the bone, to the bone marrow and blood itself, and this takes time to get to the deepest level. If you don’t follow your prescribed instructions, your healing will be superficial, hence you earn what you work for. You can look and feel worse during bigu, but it’s evidence of you detoxing, this is called the “healing crisis period” during any and all type of healing processes, spiritual and physical. It’s like exercising after being dormant from exercise, you get sore at first. It’s like women who go through cosmetic surgery. You go through a period where you need to hide from the outside environment to protect your energy because you’re more frail at this time, but in the healing end, you’re more radiant, strong, and healthy! It is so worth it on all levels. You save time cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, eating, money, and your weekly trash is dramatically reduced. Bigu is for all people, all ages, all backgrounds, with or without all and every type of disease. You will lose a lot of un-needed weight, or gain if that is what your natural state needs. Qinyin guarantees you will look 10 years younger in 2 months, if you follow her prescribed instructions to you. I’ve seen people shift at this retreat that at certain moments they became younger in minutes, right before my eyes.

Quick and Easy Self-Healing Techniques

by Michelle Mayur on May 10, 2010

Each and every one of us on a path of personal growth needs a toolbox of quick, easy and powerful techniques to help us release and move beyond our personal issues and blockages. The ones below are some of my personal favourites:

YOGA POSITION FOR CALMNESS AND SLEEP

  • Lie on your back or sit with your left ankle over the right ankle.
  • Cross your arms with your right arm on top, fingers under your armpits and thumbs on top.
  • Focus gently just on the physical sensations in the body, such as tingles and twitches.
  • Focus on using your preferred relaxation breathing technique.
  • Hold the position for 10 minutes, then uncross the ankles and put your fingertips together in the prayer position. Hold that position for one minute.
  • Notice how calm and clear headed you feel.

 THE POWER OF NOW

Concentrate your awareness on your 5 senses.

  • What can you see around you? Look at the details of colour, shape, size, light, shadow, etc
  • Close your eyes and be aware of all the sounds around you.
  • Notice physical sensations in the body – comfort or otherwise of the clothing and shoes, temperature, feelings of chair / pillow against the body, etc
  • What can you smell?
  • What can you taste?

When your attention is 100% in the present moment you are not thinking about the past or the future, so it is impossible to feel anxious. Anxiety is a forward-projected fear.

 BODY DISCOMFORT FOCUS

The body contains a cellular memory of all the traumas, both physical and emotional, that it has experienced. Where the original source of the trauma has been resolved there is no discomfort left in the body. However where there is unresolved trauma or stress in the body it is possible to pick up on physical discomfort associated with that problem. Our bodies talk to us clearly, if only we learn to listen to their language. As well as the language of the mind-body connections, anywhere in the body can be telling us it is still holding onto a particular trauma or is calling out for our attention.

Simply by quieting the mind, focusing on an area of body discomfort and having the intention to breathe energy into that area, you can release and therefore resolve trapped emotions. You may also like to place your hands over the affected area for added comfort and heat.

Exercise: Think about an issue that has been bothering you. Imagine it vividly and get a sense of which area of your body has been holding onto the discomfort related to this issue. Get a clear picture in your mind of how this discomfort feels. Note the discomfort level on a scale from 1-10. Focus your out-breath to that region for at least 10 minutes or until a release is obtained. Re-note the remaining discomfort level – ideally the discomfort will have gone completely.

 PENDULATION

This works by utilizing the body’s experience of trauma and the body’s experience of resiliency to create a balanced state. To pendulate, bridge with your awareness back and forth between constriction, tightness and the discomfort and relative places of expansion in the body.

  • First, explore an area of relative discomfort, then find a place that is far away from or feels most different from the discomfort and tightness and explore it.
  • Then, go back and forth, focusing on each of the two places in the body.
  • Then add your breath. As you inhale, focus on the area of relative comfort; as you breathe out, focus on the area of relative tension (reverse the order if it brings better results)
  • Repeat this cycle for a minimum of 4 times, breathing in the comfort or expansion, breathing out the tension.
  • You are likely to notice that the initial discomfort has substantially reduced or has gone completely.

ASKING THE HEART WHAT IT WANTS

When I ask people where they feel their soul is located, the majority of people will automatically put their hand over their heart. It appears the heart represents the gateway to the soul. When you have a decision to make, ask your heart what it wants and this is likely to be a reflection of your soul’s response. I have used the following technique repeatedly and have learnt to trust the answers I receive this way implicitly, even if the logical, analytical mind or the ego is trying to tell me something else.

Relax in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for at least 10 minutes and breathe deeply to relax and still the mind. Focus on the heart as an observer and begin by asking a question that is an obvious Yes or No answer, such as, “Is my name Daffy Duck?” The individual feeling response of the heart will vary from individual to individual, but generally a ‘Yes’ answer will elicit  a feeling of calm and expansiveness in the heart, whereas a ‘No’ answer will get a feeling of heaviness and/or contraction. Try several questions with obvious Yes or No responses to understand how your heart/soul communicates with you. Then you are ready to ask whatever you like that requires a Yes or No answer and you should be able to clearly differentiate between the two.

PROGRESSIVE RELAXATION TECHNIQUE

This is particularly useful for people who find it difficult to relax or who are just starting out with meditation. Lying comfortably on your back bring your focus to the major parts of your body in turn from your feet up to your face and forehead muscles. In sequence clench each area as hard as you can, then give it permission to let go and relax.

A suggested sequence of tensing and relaxation is:

Arches of feet – calf muscles – thighs – buttocks – lower back – abdominals – shoulders – hands – neck muscles – face and forehead muscles.

MEDITATION

Meditation involves a withdrawing of the external senses and a going within, a surrendering to an inner force. The meditative state is a highly relaxed state of altered consciousness between wakefulness and sleep, called an alpha-state.

There are many different forms of meditation and experimenting with all of them on different occasions is a good idea to maintain discipline:

  • Mantra repetition, such as ‘ohm’ the sound of creation or the key word of an affirmation, such as ‘confidence’. Mantras help to switch off mind interference and are especially recommended for meditation beginners.
  •  Breathing techniques, given above, to focus mind on breath
  •  Concentration on a fixed object, such as a candle flame
  •  Quiet contemplation in a place of Nature
  •  Insight meditation contacting higher self for problem solving and to provide answers. Insight meditation is very useful for gaining clarity on issues that the ego and conscious mind have been hindering.

A good introductory meditation is to focus on a point in a stream as viewed from a bridge. As bits of debris (thoughts) float along the stream acknowledge them and see them pass under the bridge. Do not try to consciously stop your thoughts during meditation. Benefits of meditation build up over time with consistent daily practice.

 HANDING PROBLEMS TO THE ANGELS

For those people with a belief in angels, it is very powerful to collect together into a ball all the energy of a problem you are dealing with and then deliberately hand it all over to the angels to fix for you for your highest good and hand it back to you at a higher vibration when they have done so. This allows problems to be sorted out at a higher level and in much more creative ways that most of us think possible. Great for dealing with those nagging relationship issues!
